A responce to Lisa Scott from the Metro Newspaper on Witchcraft

On the 16 November 2009 a article was written on the metro by Lisa Scott from the metro news.

Her theame was "Tarot cards could spell out your future".

Their are alot of people who try and investigate things they have no real understanding of, "Fsb,' I say, trying not to laugh, as my neighbour says something that sounds like: 'Tmc'. Eight of us are sat round a table in a room lit only by candlelight. Another one says: 'Umf', then I hear: 'Gan.' I can't hold it in. 'Fsb,' I say between giggles as we speed up. 'Fsb', 'tmc', 'umf', 'gan', 'fsb', 'tmc', 'umf', 'gan'. I glance up and see a few others about to crack. I imagine us wearing pointy hats and I make a strange snorting sound. 'Fsb,' I croak as my neighbour says: 'Tmc.' Casting spells is a serious business so I pull myself together. Besides, I want mine to work."

Marcus Katz is a scholar magician who is leading today's witchcraft session, which is to promote a new TV series, Eastwick, starring the beautiful Rebecca Romijn of Ugly Betty and X-Men fame.

The Bible warns us we are not to consult with such people and get involved with such things, “When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire [an ancient occult practice], or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination [detestable] to the LORD…”
-Deuteronomy 18:9-12

http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/edn-occult.html tells us

"Divination, Fortune-telling, Mediums, Spiritism, Necromancy, Familiar Spirits, Wizardry, Seances, Channeling, Clairvoyance, Spirit-guides

The Bible strongly warns people not to consult mediums and spiritists for the truth, but to inquire of God (Isaiah 8:19). Clearly, if those who practiced these arts have any power (beyond being great deceivers), it is not a gift from God (as some falsely claim). The Bible condemns and forbids these practices several times (Deuteronomy 18:9-14; Isaiah 44:25; Jeremiah 27:9; 2 Kings 21:6; 23:24). Divination and Spiritism were despised practices of the heathens (Ezekiel 21:21; Isaiah 19:3; 1 Samuel 28). Scripture says that one of the reasons King Saul died was "because he consulted a medium for guidance" rather than God (1 Chronicles 10:13-14).

The Bible provides examples showing the folly and failures of those who claimed the ability to predict the future based on their own powers or those of spirits (Daniel 2:27, etc.). God calls the word of diviners “nonsense,” “lies” and “deception” for foolish people (Ezekiel 13:8; Jeremiah 14:14; Isaiah 44:25). God said, "Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!" (Ezekiel 13:3). If an Israelite lived the deceitful practice of being a medium, it was punishable by death (Leviticus 20:27). The presence of a medium or spiritist among God's people of Israel was considered a defilement (Leviticus 19:31). All these practices take people further from their Creator, the true and living God."

"I am here, however, to see if all this magick malarkey actually works (the serious stuff is spelt with an extra K to differentiate it from the rabbit-in-a-hat foolery). You see, many modern-day witches and magicians believe magick is the route to happy relationships and happy lives. And let's be honest, who couldn't do with a helping hand?"

Let us reason states

The New Age Movement is actually a modern revival of ancient religious (pagan) practices. The original source is found in Genesis 3:1-5, expressed in Satan's temptation of man. The original lie had man fall from his pure estate; Satan brought doubt of God's word, His authority and benevolent rule to man Gen.3. He disputed that death would occur from disobedience to Gods decrees and claimed that if they acquired what god said not to, they could be enlightened and be “like God” their creator. The original lie echoes through time to today, the modern Gnostic movement is yearning to repeat history, to their own demise. By gaining knowledge of both good and evil they had something that God was protecting them from, evil being sin. The immediate affect is shame and guilt which we all have today. The fig leaves did not cover Adam and eve and today they have no covering either.

Many of the occult practices and beliefs revived by the modern NAM were a part of very early pagan cultures. Many practices common to the NAM such as witchcraft, sorcery, spiritism (contacting spirits from the other worlds), divination, astrology (clairvoyance; seeing the future), necromancy (consulting the dead) mediums (channeling) all of these and more are clearly and strongly condemned in Scripture (Deut. 18: 9-17; Lev.19, Isaiah 47: 9-15). These and other occultic practices were practiced by the ancient tribes and mystery religions of the Chaldeans, Egyptians, and the Babylonian culture. Horoscopes, palm reading, crystal ball, water witching, pendulum, divining rod, tarot cards, tea leave reading, numerology, palmistry, Ouiji board and the study of animal entrails have given way to more modern updated names but the practices are still the same. Only the names have changed such as channeling or spirit guides is the practice of ancient mediums and spiritism. These have been used by shamans, witchdoctors and mystics in the ancient world. God has always warned his people not to participate in this."

Lisa Scott stated

"'There's been a huge revival in magick of late,' says Katz, who runs his own school in the Lake District. 'People have a growing disenchantment with life and are thinking: "this isn't it - there must be more."'

Katz even believes witchcraft can make you healthier and people often comment on how youthful his students look. 'We have a strong alignment with the natural world and the seasons so we're really in tune with our bodies and do lots of meditation, which tends to reduce stress and body issues,' he says.

According to Katz, magick believers understand the world is all about cycles and change so we should embrace it - something that puts most of us into panic mode. 'Humans aren't great with too much change - our ego system is geared towards a stable self and stable environment but by accepting change, you will be a happier person,' he concludes.

Katz is one of at least 10,000 practising witches and magicians in Britain who believe that magick, in the words of Marti Pellow, is all around. Magick believers say strange coincidences are more than accidental - stronger forces are in play. This doesn't mean spirits are hiding your front door keys but that you can will something to happen through spells, chanting and better understanding your future with tarot cards."

What Lisa Scott does not realise is that Witches and Mediums are nothing more then con artists, atleast the government can see through this as we have a legislation called Consumer Protection Regulations this places the burden of proof upon psychics or mediums if they happen to be sued for fraud, and rightly so, mediums and psychics have always been exposed as frauds by James Randi, Harry Houdini etc.

Here is further proff

The Truth is Lisa Scott took the bate hook, line and sinker.

"I have decided to take control of my future through the spell. We are instructed to write down one thing we want to come true in the next week, then we take the first letter of each word and write that down. Finally we choose the first, middle and last letter, leaving us with a three-word sound, hence 'fsb'. Katz asks for assistance from the natural world, uses salt to cordon off our magic circle and we start the chanting. I need a new housemate and after four weeks of meeting some pretty strange people, I decide to seek help from a higher power. "

In occultism you are led to believe that you can take control of your future through using Magick, when it has the compleate opposite effect, it controls you as everything their is always a spirtual element to this, the truth is

Johannes Jonsson writes

"Satan is jealous of God and always tries to get people away from God. Most of all he wants people to worship him, not God. Satanism and the occult are two ways he uses to get people away from God. People involved in satanism and different kinds of occult often think that what they do is just an innocent game, but in reality they are in contact with real evil forces. So it's not a game! Many also think that they through sorcery, spells, rituals etc can control these forces, but they are all deceived. Cause whether they know it or not, they are in fact the ones that are controlled by the demons."

Are terrot cards demonic, when we see the symbolism in the terrot cards we find
"In the
Rider-Waite-Smith deck, the Devil sits above two naked human demons—one male, one female, who are chained to his seat. The Tarot Devil card is derived in part from Eliphas Levi's famous illustration "Baphomet" in his Dogme et Rituel de la Haute Magie (1855). Baphomet is winged and horned, combining human and bestial features. Many modern Tarot decks portray the Devil as a satyr-like creature. In the Tarot of Marseilles (illustration, below), the devil is portrayed with facial features in unusual places, such as a mouth on his stomach, eyes on his knees, and with female breasts and male genitalia."

We find the clue is in the terrot, a demon can be summond through it giving them a spiritual doorway from this dimention to our dimention, between the spirit world and our world thus psycial manifestations can occure through this, it would be better to keep away from such occult activerties.

Lisa Scott also writes

"Next up is tarot-card reading, a witchcraft method most of us are familiar with. There are three witches with Katz today and Kristen, a 25-year-old who works in a marketing department, reads mine.

I want to see how accurate the cards are so I don't ask for a specific question to be answered. Instead I want Kristen to tell me what is happening in my life. Two cards in, she pulls the 'blasted tower' and, judging by the flames and people falling to their deaths, I guess it's not good. I have four overseas trips planned before Christmas but Kristen says she can't see any travel in my future. Eh? Katz defends his witch: 'The idea is to bounce off certain questions - it can even be a counselling session - so cold card readings aren't always successful,' he says. Again, I'm not sure I am convinced, although I want to believe magick is out there. Would I have another reading? Probably."

Again for demonic possetion to happen you must be led in to believing that something will happen even if the first few tries that nothing happens, out of presistance this is how a spirit is invited and a person may never be able to get rid of one or several demonic enteritis, the bate is the fact their is not aways a outcome or event that may occure out of it, it does this because the demonic element knows that a person will always come back for more until that person becomes a willing host.

Lisa Scott states

People are interested in having a Tarot reading because they recognise that the world is a mysterious place - our own motivations are often mysterious even to ourselves,' says Katz."

Lies, Lies and more Lies the reason why people are intrested in having a Tarot reading John 3:19 states "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

They have rejected God and as such they prefaired their wicked deeds, Romans 1:18, 21, 22

18 "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;"

21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Lisa Scott Stated

"So did my spell work? It did indeed - and within the seven-day deadline. As Dave, our new and seemingly normal housemate, signs on the dotted line, I am left wondering how much of this is hocus pocus - and also why I didn't ask to win the lottery or get at least one night with David Beckham."

My sugestions is that Lisa Scott stop turning to the occult for answers and start turning to Christ he is the only one who can regenerater her, Lisa needs to be reconsilled to God, repent of her sins and ask God for salvation through the washing of the blood of Christ.
