John Crowder Catholosism EXPOSED! A Review of toking the ghost

Today I had received a legal notice claim of infringing copyrighted material with in UK law it is permitted to use 20% of copyrighted material for the purpose of critique, news reporting, for private and research study purposes, The Following Links used in this article are by no means an endorsement by FPA.

Definition of fair dealing

"Fair dealing" means the right granted by copyright laws to reproduce limited portions of copyrighted works without infringing the legitimate interest of the authors or copyright owners. This right exists in the UK and other regions whose copyright ordinances are derived from the UK (such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Hong Kong). In the US, the term "fair use" is adopted.

Fair dealing is a term used to describe acts which are permitted to a certain degree without infringing the work, these acts are:

° Private and research study purposes.

° Criticism and news reporting.

At first plumbline we go to great lengths to study and critique claims that teachers like John Crowder makes, the question is are we safe from John Chowders influence and so this piece used with its materials is strictly for Criticism, research study purposes. and News Reporting so I have now decided to write this one up.

Here at First Plumbline what we do is document these claims for purely criticism and journalistic purposes only.

A record was published in 2008 by John Crowder titled Tokin the Ghost,

Toking the Ghost

the album it self is a blend of pagan and Roman Catholic Mysticism when upon close examination their is nothing rooted Biblical we cannot for reasons that John Crowder may take us to court and sue us for simply telling the truth, the information on the album can be found at the following site

The Tracks listed are

This  article is an examination of John Crowder's records I am going to use a very small segment of Crowder's teachings so you can get some Idea of who John Crowder really is and who's gospel does he really represent after further examination it is Roman Catholicism and not Biblical Christianity.

1) In track 3 John Crowder in his own words says "Lord release the mystical powers of heaven..."

Stigmatize us, Lord I want a stiggy give me the five rich red rubies of the stigmata..." "I want a stiggy that glows, I want a stiggy that grows little golden lilies from my hands..."

John Crowder is clearly promoting Occultism and Occult practices it is very well known to the occult world that the stigmata is mostly associated by devout Roman Catholics that it is an occult manifestation of bodily marks sores, or sensations of pain in locations which most cases correspond to the crucifixion wounds of Messiah.

These types are proven to be false manifestations that had there inception within the mother of all Harlots (The Roman Catholic Church) these can be dated to the 13th century, people like St Francis of Assisi had bleed from the hands none of the accounts are founded in the Bible but to the devotion of Mariolatry.

To justify this teaching they may quote Gal.6:17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. this is not talking about receiving some mystical marks if people read what is written you will read that Paul was persecuted and beaten by people who rejected the gospel in doing so he is saying that the beatings he received left marks in his body and so the afflictions he did receive were the marks of Christ, I am pretty sure if you were beaten up for the gospel you also would receive the marks of Christ if your persecution was for the gospel, tell why are masses of Catholics or those who received the stigmata did not receive a beating Paul's marks were not caused by some mystical apparition that appeared on his hands, rather they were the marks carried by the hands of men, this is why he said after he was persecuted the marks he received from the beatings were trophies we read where Paul received his marks in 2 Corinthians 11:25 Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; if you were to read 2 Corinthians 11:24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Paul receive 40 lashes in context the scripture in Gal.6:17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus, is speaking of his treatment by the roman solders their is nothing to suggest that the marks on Paul were anything mystical as John Crowder by his own vain imagination would like us to believe again John Crowder is perverting the gospel of Christ according to the apostle Paul, the bible refutes this claim it is famously known that Padre Pio was famous for the stigmata he was exposed and a proven fraud I have very good reasons to believe that the stigmata is counterfeit as documented in Various journals and books such as Counterfeit Miracles By B.B. Warfield, John Crowder will brush this off by saying "As with every valid miracle of God, there simultaneously exist demonic counterfeits" he would use this rational to justify these diabolical teachings of his.

John Crowder seems to suggest that "visual imagery is so dramatically Christ-centered
with stigmata, invoking the emotions with such a direct picture of His passion – the enemy will attempt to confuse it as much as possible." we never in the Bible find examples of this but we do in the Roman Catholic Church, this is nothing more than basing scripture rooted in the authority of tradition and not the authority of the bible itself, John Crowder represents from the historical 13th century century roman catholic monastics such as Lady Helen of Veszprim by her fellow closeted nuns and contemporaries.

Even though John Crowder refuses to accept that he is a Roman Catholic or Protestant, he does not condemn it either but speaks highly of high profile and notable representatives of Roman Catholicism and those who are in strong defense of this religion and its mystics/gnostic, I have strong reason to believe that John Crowder is vastly ignorant and delusional of what Roman Catholicism represents and even promotes varied notable Roman Catholics, John Crowder is blindly following the footsteps of the most sincere and authentic deep rooted traditions of in defense of Roman Catholicism's authentic teachings and practices, where as most Catholics would just stick to the Catholic Holidays, the Rosary, Mass and confession's to a priest, John Crowder would perfect candidate for the pope to awaken its centenary's old catholic mysticism that would lead us back to the dark ages.

John Crowder stated that that
visual imagery is Christ Centered, this teaching again is not rooted in any historical evangelical practice or teachings, nor is this found in the Bible, it is rooted in Roman Catholism, but is forbidden in the Bible.

The Roman Catholic encyclopedia proves it is a Roman Catholic practice that states that images are very important in the RCC that the Pope tells us it is Christ Centered based on his authority:

we conceive the higher realities only by analogy with sensible things, but it in no way follows that we conceive nothing but what is material. Images play a very important part in all the activities of the intellectual order; but they do not constitute that order itself. The very spirituality of the human soul depends on this latter truth.
CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH 753 In Scripture, we find a host of interrelated images and figures through which Revelation speaks of the inexhaustible mystery of the Church. The images taken from the Old Testament are variations on a profound theme: the People of God. In the New Testament, all these images find a new center because Christ has become the head of this people, which henceforth is his Body.144 Around this center are grouped images taken "from the life of the shepherd or from cultivation of the land, from the art of building or from family life and marriage."145

This is the same teaching that John Crowder promotes in his article Stigmata and Blood Sign Miracles - Part 2,
that is contrary to scripture Lev. 26:1, "You shall not make for yourselves idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves an image or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God."  See Joshua 23:7

The Bible called this Idolatry
2 Chron. 33:6-7, He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking Him to anger. 7 Then he put the carved image of the idol which he had made in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever;

Ezek. 14:3, "Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and have put right before their faces the stumbling block of their iniquity. Should I be consulted by them at all?"

So does this promote idolatry? according to the scripture and its own practices, yes it does.

"Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry." (1 Cor. 10:14).

Another Track in the Album Tokin the Ghost is John Crowder teaching:

"Lord hear our Prayer we want to talk to animals....." "Lord, I want to be like St Francis of Assisi, communicating with the wolves, communicating with the bears, communicating with the animals of the forest...."

Acording to a Catholic site it was true that the Story was told that
St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226) could communicate with animals and felt at one with all creation. Here are a few of the stories that were first recorded by Thomas of Celano during the 13th century.

St Francis of Assisi practices are not in the context of scripture as much as what he held to was simply another gospel Francis of Assisi believed in the Reliquim Mass, Rosary, Mariolatry, The Doctrine of Intention, the Doctrine of Extreme unction and the authority of Oral Tradition etc, it is much often said that Communication with animals has been a pagan practice for centuries. Animals would act as spirit guides as people would converse with them for direction and wisdom St Francis of Assisi would fall pray under this category.

As we go through much of what Crowder promotes such Leading Roman Catholics, Catholic Saints etc it will come clear to you that John Crowder does not really represent the Biblical Jesus or Biblical Historical Evangelicalism what John Crowder promotes is counterfeit and a dire ignorance of the Bible itself.

Album "Toking the ghost" - Mystical Powers

John Crowder says "Lord, Hear our prayer. Levitate us!" "Lord, we want to float. Release ascension miracles..." "I want to float like Teresa of Avila, I want to be so wacked up like the Gaper, the Flying friar Joseph of Cupertino, that I just fly all around with my buddies..."

Levitation is deeply rooted in the occult, It has been practiced by Hindu siddhas, Buddhist Monks, Mediums and Roman Catholic Mystics. In Hinduism the power of levitation is called the dardura-siddhi (the frog power).

This shows no biblical bases for such teachings or practices, occultists call this PK Psychokinesis, it is a well known fact that there is no conclusive evidence that psychokinesis is a real phenomenon much of what we call Levitation is by far the stretch of the imagination and at best superstition, the bible tells us “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority” (Colossians 2:8-10).

Mysticism is nothing more than a deceptive philosophy that is hollow and depends on human tradition, John Crowder has all the Markings and a makes it of pushing traditional mystic roman catholic practices and teachings.

Album "Toking the ghost" - Mystical Powers

John Crowder says "Lord, release the miracle of lactation from our bodies (sucking noises) as we nurse from the breast of heaven...."

John Crowder is asking God for the miracle of male lactation so that he can produce his own milk. He also wants to drink from the breast of heaven that he would from other teachings 1 Peter 2:2 and Isaiah 66:12, John Crowder is misrepresenting the scriptures many Catholic Mystics when looking at this area refer to their heavenly mother (Mary) but this teaching can also be traced to the goddess Diana the many breasted god.

In 1 Peter 2:2 the since milk of the word are symbolic the milk of the word is basically Peter using an analogy in the natural new born babies cannot handle solid foods just as much as a new believe cannot understand the deep things of God a new believer is required to study the scriptures to grow mature into studying the deep things of God concerning their understanding of scripture Peter is saying that he does not expect believers to remain as they first were when they came to Christ, in contrast to Isaiah 66:12
For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

This is in reference to Israel and the Salvation of the Jews that will occur in the future as the indication is in verse 18 of Issiah 66 "For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory." this scripture or any scripture does not promote the idea of lactation, the glory of the gentiles is Jesus Christ who is our savior to prove the Jews, this scripture has nothing to do with what John Crowder is suggesting here he is over spiritualizing in the context of the passage that has nothing to do with male lactation rather making a whole doctrine that is putting this scripture out of it context.

Album "Toking the ghost" - Mystical Powers

John Crowder "Lord, hear our prayer, Bi-locate us." "Lord, we want bi-location miracles. I wanna show up in multiple places at once." "Make many of me Lord, a clone army of ME!"

What is Bi-location?

Bilocation, or sometimes multilocation, is an alleged psychic or miraculous ability wherein an individual or object is located (or appears to be located) in two distinct places at the same time.

The concept has been used in a wide range of historical and philosophical systems, ranging from early Greek philosophy to modern religious stories, occultism and magic.

In the 17th century, persons accused of witchcraft were reported to appear in dreams and visions of witnesses. The trials at Bury St. Edmunds and Salem included this "spectral evidence" against defendants. Matthew Hopkins described the phenomenon in his book The Discovery of Witches.
The English occultist Aleister Crowley was reported by acquaintances to have the ability, even though he said he was not conscious of its happening at the time.[15]
Vladimir Lenin was seen in his Moscow Kremlin office digging through papers in October 1923 while he was critically ill in Gorki.[16] Another mystical story involved Soviet author Yevgeny Petrov served as inspiration for the film Envelope (2012) starring Kevin Spacey. Paranormal author Rodney Davies has written a book on the history of bilocation.[17]

The only person in the Bible who is able to be in multiple places at once is God.

God has his divine attributes for example God is omnipresence. No man or angel can be in two places at a time, only God is capable of such an act, with this common belief is more practiced in the occult and best left alone, it is clearly evident that Roman Catholics have been engaging in occult practices such as Astral Travel and speaking of their experiences with this practice on various websites around the internet..

Album "Toking the ghost" - Baby Jesus (More Blasphemy)
John Crowder says "(Pufff....) Here Ben, have a hit of Baby Jesus (Pufff, Pufff...)"

Apparently Crowder wants to roll the infant Jesus into a blunt and smoke him to get high.... He then proceeds to make toking noises as they pretend to pass around a joint.

John Crowder says "No crib for a bed, the little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head, we huffed him right up..." "Hit me baby Jesus one more time..." "You can't just read the Word you gotta huff the word. The word must be made flesh. Huff the Baby Jesus."

After listening to much of the Album it does not take much discernment to realize that Crowders brand of Christianity is highly toxic. He spews out enough heretical nonsense to qualify for a cult leader of the year.

Those were just a few examples of statements from his album "Toking the Ghost".

John Crowder says "Faith Does Not Save You", the bible says it does.

In the video

"John Crowder teaches against Salvation by faith alone, he says that faith recognises reality is that Jesus Christ saves you, his grace saves you, faith does not create reality faith recognises and trusts, in that higher reality and it courses it to manifest in the earth, faith sees the reality of who God is and God has been for us even when we were sinners."

John Crowder here is promoting Catholic doctrine the reason why is that he states it is because Roman Catholicism teaches that salvation by faith alone is not spoken or taught anywhere in the Bible, contrary to what John Crowder teaches the scriptures teach to the contrary, the scriptures do teach that we are justified and saved by faith alone and not by works, scriptually there is a difference between faith and works because scripture teaches we are justified by faith.

The RCC will quote James 2:24, "You see that a man is justified by works, and not by faith alone."

Before we can look at James we see that the bible does exclude works in order to receive salvation, the following scriptures teach us,

  1. Rom. 3:28-30, "For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. 29Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one."
Rom. 4:5, "But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness,"

    Rom. 5:1
, "therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;"

    Rom. 9:30
, "What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith;"

    Rom. 10:4
, "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes."

    Rom. 11:6
, "But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace."

    Gal. 2:16
, "nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified."

    Gal. 2:21
, I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.

Gal. 3:5-6, "Does He then, who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? 6Even so Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness."

    Gal. 3:24
, "Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, that we may be justified by faith."

    Eph. 2:8-9
, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. 9Not by works, lest any man should boast."

    Phil. 3:9
, "and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith."

These scriptures that are mentioned would refute the claims taught by John Crowder with in the video that if you base your salvation on faith then that is a work in it self, this is not true the bible teaches that we are made right by God through faith alone and not by faith and works.

It is faith in what Jesus did on the Cross that we have been justified by faith in what he did and so it is James who testified to this by saying in James 2:24, "You see that a man is justified by works, and not by faith alone." James is not going against the scriptures mentioned above or that would have been a contradiction, in context we read in James 2 Verses 14-26 that is taking about the relationship with regard to faith and works by saying  "What use is it, my brethren, if a man says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith save him?" (James 2:14). it is what the end result of faith is and where it leads we also have the aspect of faith that is put into practice, we having being saved are provoked by God to live obediently, faith is then shown by works as James shows us, James is not saying it by our works that makes us right before God this is to demonstrate that their is a faith that leads to salvation and their is faith that is dead, it is as demonstrated in the bible it does not teach anything of salvation being done on our part, James's emphasis is showing the difference between true faith and a faith that is based on a false foundation.

it is by this the Bible shows us evidently that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9).

John Crowder is teaching us another gospel, there are things with in John Crowder teaches us is true, the problem is he is mixing in error with the truth blaring the lines of distinction, this misrepresents the nature of what the gospel teaches, this is the trouble with John Crowder like most who are mixing Roman Catholic Mysticism they take people to the cross and then away from the gospel message into practices that are not prescribed in the word of God we should never be deceived in to thinking that doing much good in the world is a justification for overlooking error and by his participation with those who pervert the gospel can be seen in their very teachings and works.

An example of John Crowder promoting of A Roman Catholic Priest named Fr. Richard Rohr published in John Crowders Magazine,

Fr. Richard Rohr is a Roman Catholic Franciscan Friar and in good standing with the Vatican, he is ordained by the Roman Catholic Church and has devoted his life to contemplative prayer and meditation, he has worked on presentations with Cynthia Bourgeault, Joan Chittister, Shane Claiborne, James Finley, Laurence Freeman, Thomas Keating, Ronald Rolheiser, Jim Wallis, and the Dalai Lama.

Fr. Richard Rohr is also s
upports the mission of homosexual advocacy groups, asserts that the Crucifixion of Jesus was not necessary for the redemption of mankind, Rohr has been notable for his support of homosexual causes, In 1996, Rohr presided over a ceremony for a lesbian couple, which has been referred to by a commentator as a "wedding", during one of his retreats.

In 2000, Rohr publically endorsed Soulforce, an initiative to use "relentless nonviolent resistance" to encourage Christian groups to accept homosexual people.Rohr's "wisdom lineage", those thinkers and movements that have influenced his own work, include the Bible of Nature and Creation; the Hebrew Scriptures interpreted by the Prophets; the Gospels, the Incarnation and Jesus; Paul as first Christian mystic; the Desert Fathers and Desert Mothers; the Patristic Period, particularly in the East; orthopraxy in much of Buddhism and Hinduism; non-dual thinkers of all religions; the early Franciscan theology of Bonaventure and Duns Scotus; the unique witness of mythology, poetry and art; the non-violent recovery of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.; much of Carl Jung's teachings; Spiral Dynamics and Integral Theory; 12-Step spirituality/American pragmatism; and scientific evidence from the universe.

John Crowders influences can be very much reflected upon those who have lead John Crowder into his promotion and working along side people like Fr. Richard Rohr is a clear indication to Crowders background and influences it is very clear that what is being taught by Rohr is contrary to the teachings of scripture and John Crowder reflects on pro-homosexual campaigners and advocates who he would have no problem mingling with Buddhists and so on..

John Crowder is one who we should never entertain to listen to we are warned in scripture Mark 13:5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:.
